wakan del sol x xanadu artist collaboration series

for the first volume of the xanadu artist collaboration series, i was honored to be the inaugural artist invited to create a design without any brief, logos, or rules - just a blank canvas and a simple prompt: what does xanadu and life in lombok feel like to you?

this freedom allowed me to fully express my personal connection to the island and the laid-back, inspiring vibe of the xanadu surf & yoga retreat.

my design was born from a sunrise surf session, where the calm waves, palm trees, and warm sun sparked the imagery that later took shape digitally. the artwork blends natural elements i cherish like the sun, palm trees, waves, surfboards, and tigers arranged in flowing shapes that reflect both movement and stillness, which are core themes in my art and lifestyle.

living in lombok surrounded by nature, with easy access to surf spots and a slow pace of life, deeply influences my creativity. this project beautifully ties together my two biggest passions: surfing and art, in a way that feels authentic and free. it also highlights the power of artist collaborations in small communities, showing how supporting each other can help us all thrive and keep our creative dreams alive.

this collaboration not only allowed me to create wearable art that people can connect with on a personal level but also to share the spirit of freedom, beauty, and community that xanadu embodies.
